From a guess
to altitude.
In Plain Game, accuracy earns points and each point lifts your plane 10 metres. In the daily flight, time drift is subtracted afterward. Try a round below to see each part.

Use the same units for both numbers. This is a calculator, not a submitted game answer.

- Points after multiplier
- 97
- Time drift
- −12 m
6,000 m target, 5,895 m answer, submitted at 6 seconds: 970 m climb minus 12 m drift. Example only; not today’s puzzle.
Numbers: compare proportions.
Half the target and twice the target are equally far away. A 5,000 answer for a 10,000 target therefore has the same accuracy as 20,000. The formula is round(100 × exp(−2 × |ln(answer / target)|)). Positive answers within a factor of 1.01 earn 25 extra points. That threshold is multiplicative, not a fixed number of units.
For a target of 100, before time drift or a Golden Round:
| Answer | Accuracy | Bonus points | Climb |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 25% | 0 | 250 m |
| 90 | 81% | 0 | 810 m |
| 100 | 100% | 25 | 1250 m |
| 110 | 83% | 0 | 830 m |
| 200 | 25% | 0 | 250 m |
Name questions score the source value of your selected answer. For example, selecting Kilimanjaro uses its 5,895 m source height. The spelling of the name does not earn extra points.
Years: count the years apart.
Calendar years use absolute distance: round(100 × exp(−years off / 20)). Being one year early and one year late gives the same result. Only the exact year earns the 25-point bonus. Positive whole years are supported in the explorer.
| Distance | Accuracy | Bonus points | Climb |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 years | 100% | 25 | 1250 m |
| 1 year | 95% | 0 | 950 m |
| 3 years | 86% | 0 | 860 m |
| 10 years | 61% | 0 | 610 m |
| 30 years | 22% | 0 | 220 m |
The daily clock and Golden Round
The first three seconds cost no altitude. After that, drift is floor(4 × (seconds − 3)), capped at 108 m when the 30-second clock expires. At the deadline there are no answer points. The server’s accepted answer time determines the result; a late request cannot restart a round.
An exact answer at 12 seconds earns 125 points × 10 − 36 m = 1,214 m. If that round is Golden, its points double first: 250 × 10 − 36 = 2,464 m. Drift is not doubled. The daily flight has one shared Golden Round, revealed after answering.
The running flight altitude cannot fall below zero. A round with zero points can still lose altitude from an existing climb. Seven perfect rounds, including the Golden Round, reach at most 10,000 m before drift.
Which rules apply to my game?
- Daily flight
- 30 seconds; time drift; one Golden Round. No hints, combos or boosts. The explorer above uses these rules.
- Free flight and Survival
- Accuracy uses the same underlying rules. Close-answer combos add points; an optional boost doubles an 80%+ answer or halves a weaker one. Practice hints multiply points by 0.8. Difficulty controls the clock and hint allowance. Read the full practice rules.
- Live 1v1
- 15-second deadline; no time drift, Golden Round, hints, boosts or combos. An exact estimate earns 1,250 m. Live rules and Elo.
- Friend cups and leagues
- Fixed Standard or Expert clock; stage altitude includes time drift. No hints, boosts, combos or Golden multiplier. Stages must finish before their deadline to count. Event scoring and ties.
- Training
- Baseline and retest compare unassisted accuracy; coached practice is untimed and separates hinted answers. A practice altitude is not evidence of independent improvement. Training measurements.
