Your flight manual.
Seven targets. Thirty seconds each. Name something close to the number, or make an estimate, and your plane climbs.
Take today’s flight
- Read the topic and its scope. A mountain-height round might ask for a summit near 6,200 m.
- Type a name. Choose a suggestion, use the arrow keys and Enter, or submit a full name. Familiar aliases and small spelling mistakes work. If a name is unknown, ambiguous or outside the topic, the round stays open and the clock keeps running.
- For a number question, type your estimate. The input reads back values such as 2.5k and 1.2 million. Display units follow Settings.
- The first accepted answer is final. Read the reveal, check the source and continue. Round seven is your final approach.
Everyone gets the same daily questions. The daily game changes at midnight in America/New_York, including daylight-saving changes. Your first server-scored daily attempt is the one used in group standings.
How scoring works
We compare ratios: twice the target and half the target are equally far away. Base accuracy is round(100 × exp(−2 × |ln(answer / target)|)). A guess within a factor of 1.01 earns another 25 points. Each point climbs 10 metres.
| Tier | Distance from the target |
|---|---|
| Perfect | Within a factor of 1.01, plus 25 points |
| Close | Within a factor of 1.10 |
| Warm | Within a factor of 1.35 |
| Cold | Within a factor of 2 |
| Miss | Further away, skipped or timed out |
Year questions use the number of years off: only the exact year earns the bonus; up to 3 years is Close, 10 is Warm, 30 is Cold. Their accuracy is round(100 × exp(−years off / 20)).
The clock and the Golden Round
The server starts a 30-second clock for each daily round. The first three seconds are free; then the plane loses 4 m per second, up to 108 m. Switching tabs, opening Settings or refreshing does not restart the timer. Altitude cannot go below zero.
One round is Golden. Its points count double, and it is revealed after you answer. All players share the same Golden Round. A daily flight can earn 1,000 points, or 10,000 m before time drift.
Practice your way
Free flight offers Relaxed (no timer, 3 hints), Standard (30 seconds, 2 hints) or Expert (20 seconds, 1 hint). Play all topics or choose one. Select names, numerical estimates, higher-or-lower comparisons, sorting, or a mix.
For comparisons, pick a name and lock it in. For sorting, tap all three names from smallest to largest; tap a selected name to remove it. A hint costs 20% of that round’s points. In practice and Survival, successive Close answers add combo points, and one optional boost doubles an 80%+ answer’s points or halves a weaker answer.
Survival has three lives. An answer below 55% accuracy costs a life. The run ends when your lives run out or after 50 rounds.
Build your passport
Your Profile has levels, XP, permanent badges, a seven-day record and a logbook. Daily missions are shared by everyone; finish the daily flight to claim a completed mission’s XP. Badge details explain the condition, progress and unlock date.
Complete daily games to build a streak. After every seven played days in an unbroken streak you earn a freeze, up to two held. A missed day uses a freeze automatically, preserving your streak without counting as a played day. We only show a streak-at-risk warning in the last three hours of the day when no freeze remains.
Bring a friend
Share a completed flight as a link or result image. A cloud challenge keeps the same questions and rules. Create a group to compare server-scored daily and weekly altitude; an invitation link is enough to join as a guest.
Learn from past days in the Archive. Past answers unlock after New York midnight and do not change your score.
