Play Plain Game
on your phone.
Open plaingame.app in your browser and play. No download is required. You can also add a Home Screen icon where your browser supports it.
Play in your browser →This site provides a web game, not a downloadable APK or IPA package. The game and questions are in English. Normal play needs JavaScript and an internet connection.
Add Plain Game on iPhone or iPad.
- Open plaingame.app in Safari, rather than inside a social or messaging app.
- Open Safari’s Share menu. Depending on the layout, Share may be inside the page menu.
- Choose Add to Home Screen. If available, turn on Open as Web App, then tap Add.
- Find the Plain Game icon on that device’s Home Screen and open it. Check that you are using the expected passport before continuing.
Menu labels vary by system version. If Add to Home Screen is missing, check Share → Edit Actions. Apple’s current Home Screen instructions ↗.
Add Plain Game on Android.
- Open plaingame.app in Chrome.
- Open the browser’s menu and look for Install and create shortcut, Install app or Add to Home Screen.
- Choose the offered install or shortcut option and follow the browser’s confirmation steps.
- Open the new icon and check your passport. An icon appearing is the confirmation; tapping an install button alone is not.
You can also open the game’s Settings → Daily reminders & install → Install / Add to Home Screen. A browser installation prompt appears only when supported and available; otherwise the game shows manual instructions. Chrome’s Android web-app help ↗.
Play or install on a computer.
Open the same website in your desktop browser. In Chrome, look for the install icon beside the address bar, or use the menu → Cast, save, and share → Install page as app. If the option is unavailable, bookmark the game and keep playing in the browser. Chrome’s desktop instructions ↗.
Keyboard controls work in the browser: type a name, use arrow keys to highlight a suggestion, Enter to select, then Enter again to lock your answer. For numerical questions, enter the value in the displayed unit and submit. See a real input and reveal.
An icon is not a backup.
A guest passport depends on the current browser’s cookie. Another browser, device or Home Screen context may not share it. Before switching, sign in to your account in the original browser; then sign in with the same account at the new entry point and check your Profile.
Do not clear site data to fix an installation issue before protecting your progress. Profile export produces a readable JSON record, but the site does not have a file-import feature to restore it. If a new icon appears to have an empty passport, return to the original browser instead of assuming the old progress was deleted.
Does installing make it work offline?
No. Normal scoring, saved progress and multiplayer need the internet. An offline cold start shows a connection page. A game already loaded may offer local Free flight when the service is unavailable, but those device-only results do not become verified daily or group scores. Installation is a convenient entry point, not a promise of full offline play.
Choose a reminder that fits your device.
In the game, open Settings → Daily reminders & install. If browser reminders are available, choose a time and enable them, then answer the browser’s permission prompt. The game skips completed days and uses quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am. On iPhone and iPad, add the game to the Home Screen before looking for background-notification support.
If notifications are unavailable or you prefer not to allow them, choose Download calendar reminder (.ics) and open the file in your calendar. Your calendar controls those alerts, and the event repeats even after you have played. Adding a calendar event is optional. Check the daily reset time before choosing when to return.
When an option is missing
- No install option
- Use Safari or Chrome directly, check whether the app is already installed, or use a bookmark. A browser is not required to offer installation.
- Reminder button is unavailable
- The browser or service may not support background reminders. Use the calendar option; an unavailable button is not an active subscription.
- Notifications were declined
- Use the browser or device’s site-notification settings if you choose to allow them later. Other permissions do not need to be changed.
- The game does not load
- Check your connection, open the site in a full browser and allow JavaScript for the game. Keep the original browser data intact. If it still fails, report the device, browser and visible error; do not include passwords or verification codes.
Want a calmer phone session? Choose untimed practice. Private friend invitations also work in the browser: choose the right sharing link.
